2023 GMC Yukon Denali: New GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate Full-Size SUV Review

Posted on

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate has improved leather, unique interior and exterior trim, and the optional Super Cruise.

The GMC Yukon Denali is already one of the most striking SUVs on sale thanks to its luxurious chrome grille and well-appointed interior.

But now GMC is elevating Yukon luxury with the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate, a new range-topper that brings subtle exterior tweaks, improved interior materials, and even more technology to the already luxurious Denali.

The 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate features a dark chrome look for the exterior and interior with improved leather.

The 16-way powered front seats have a massage function and speakers built into the headrests. The Denali Ultimate can also be had with Super Cruise driver-assist technology and a rear seat entertainment package.

You might expect every inch of the grander Denali to be chrome-plated, but the truth is the Denali Ultimate gets a more understated look, with most trims having a darker “Vader” chrome look. The GMC badge features a darker finish, but GMC does leave some trim in lighter finishes, such as around the windows, for contrast. Denali Ultimate also gets unique 22-inch alloy wheels with seven bars.

The 2023 Yukon Denali Denali Ultimate comes with an optional 6.2-liter V-8 engine or 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel, with both engines mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Magnetorheological dampers and air suspensions are also standard.

GMC Yukon 2023 Interior The biggest upgrades are in this section. All three rows of seats are wrapped in richer leather with woven stitching, and the front throne is 16-way adjustable and equipped with a massage function. The dashboard features Paldao wood trim with an engraved topographic map of Mount Denali, which echoes against the seatbacks. Aluminum trim completes the look.

Denali Ultimate is also packed with features. There’s a new 18-speaker Bose sound system with headrest-mounted speakers and an optional rear-seat entertainment package that attaches the screen to the back of the front seats. But the real highlight is the optional Super Cruise driver-assist technology, which includes automatic lane changes and settings designed for towing.

All three paint options are available for the 2022 model year. Satin Steel Metallic and Hunter Metallic cost an additional $495, while the Cayenne Red Tintcoat costs an additional $645. Hunter Metallic is also a new color for the 2022 model year and is only available for the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali trim level.

Going forward, GMC Yukon 2023 will introduce four new exterior paint options, including:

  • Titanium Rush Metallic (G6M)
  • Frosted Pine Metallic (G6N)
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)
  • Sterling Metallic (GXD)

2023 Yukon Price

The Yukon Denali Ultimate goes on sale this fall. GMC hasn’t released pricing yet, but considering its pickup truck sibling, the Sierra Denali Ultimate, carries a $20,000 premium over the standard Sierra Denali, we expect the Yukon Denali Ultimate to ring in at nearly $92,000.

2023 GMC Yukon Release Date

Underneath the body panels, the fifth-generation GMC Yukon uses the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at GM’s Arlington plant in Texas. GMC is taking reservations for the Yukon 2023 now with production set to begin in mid-July.

Preceding Part

GMC is known for making big muscle cars and is quite popular across America. The Yukon is one of the hottest SUVs available in the GMC lineup.

While most of the parts are owned by the Chevrolet Tahoe, the GMC Yukon is still far more different than that. The 2021 model year underwent a complete redesign that sold like hotcakes and exploded in the SUV lineup.

The new Yukon 2023 will be launched in the market unchanged as it is now. GMC Yukon is a three-lane family airline with outstanding off-road capabilities with an emphasis on modern technology. The towing capacity of this car is also impressive.

We hope that the next fifth-generation GMC Yukon will enter the market around next year’s model. Until then, we expect the current next-generation Yukon to receive minor changes, updates, and improvements.

2023 Yukon Denali Review

The all-new 2023 Yukon Denali full-size SUV and the expanded GMC Yukon XL full-size SUV will represent the fifth generation of the nameplate.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali

We expect the next Yukon family to launch in the calendar year 2023 as the vehicle model year.

The all-new Yukon will ensure GMC’s edge in the full-size SUV space. It is likely to enter all current markets where GMC is currently sold, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East.

Our expectations are based on expectations for the GMC Yukon going forward:

Based on the new GM T1 platform, brings new foundations and techniques. Significantly lighter than the fourth-generation model, at 300 pounds (136 kilograms).

In the new 2023 GMC Denali exterior and interior design try an improved third-row configuration and usability as well as the inclusion of the next-generation IntelliLink infotainment system.

An increased amount of luxury, comfort, and convenience is complemented by the potential for adding an independent rear suspension, perhaps as an option, and incorporating GM Super Cruise autonomous driving technology.

We expect the next-generation Denali 2023 GMC Yukon to use GM’s T1 platform shared with GM’s pickup trucks and full-size SUVs in the future.

2023 Yukon Denali Redesign

In this discussion, the redesigned 2023 Yukon Denali would be the most obvious candidate for the flagship product, but GM says program timing works best for the 2023 Sierra launch, not the Yukon. It is likely that the SUV will be updated with the system in the near future.

In addition, GMC’s Super Cruise type also revealed that the 2023 Yukon Denali gets a fully digital instrument cluster. This is definitely an optional item but could become standard in Denali.

GM has flipped the speedometer and tachometer to opposite sides, but their digital version still has the straight GMC look. You can see the Super Cruise chart in the middle, and all the gauges are lowered to the bottom of the screen.

But wait there’s more it also marks the beginning of an entirely new interior design, different from the current Sierra, the standard Yukon interior, and the Yukon Denali. This is immediately and distinctly different everywhere we look.

The air vents are direct to the right of the new steering wheel and are horizontal where they were previously vertical. The design looks similar to the Yukon Denali, but the pushbutton is nowhere to be seen, most likely there is still a large bar in the column.

Instead, we can see the volume and home buttons from the touch screen. And if the screen starts there, most likely. GM has gone a step further by rearranging the hood above the instrument cluster as well.

Just like the surrounding area, it doesn’t look like the current 2023 Yukon Denali Sierra. We’ve placed one next to the other below.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Specs

Just like the 2023 model, the Yukon 2023 will be offered in four trim levels with an MSRP starting at $51,995. The price of the new model will go up for obvious reasons. The SLE, SLT, and AT4 trims are powered by a 5.3L V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. torque.

The Denali gets an exclusive 6.2L V8 engine that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. torque. All engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GMC Yukon trim is available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

We believe that the mid-range SLT trim will suffice for most buyers. The reason behind choosing this trim is that it is cheaper than the base model and adds features like ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, and a good quality audio system.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Interior

In this episode, the 2023 GMC Yukon seems to come with some interior changes from the predecessor. The material used in the interior is more luxurious. The instrument panel is covered with soft-touch material. All buttons and controls are chrome plated.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali

The steering wheel is smooth, and all the buttons are also arranged symmetrically. The clearance in the front is good, so it is a problem for tall people to get in and out of the car.

2023 GMC Yukon can accommodate 8 people in three rows. The total space in the car has increased by 40%. Cloth seats are standard and can be upgraded to genuine leather.

The seats are very comfortable for long trips. The armrests are comfortable and wide enough for the driver and passengers. There is enough space in the back for three adults.

Towards the third row, there’s room for your kids as there’s less room for adults, but still more than most SUVs.

In the infotainment system, every GMC Yukon gets a 10.2-inch floating infotainment display. The screen is of excellent quality and there is no screen glare problem even in bright sunlight. The display includes HD and satellite radio with seven USBs and additional ports.

The technology package also includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with wireless device charging. The dual-screen rear media system will keep passengers entertained. The BOSE 9-speaker sound system will get the party going.

Overall the interior of the car is very good but could have been better at a premium. The GMC Yukon is killing the competition when it comes to interiors.

Due to the very large size of the car, it offers ample passenger space. It also has a larger cargo hold than its competitors. Some of the key interior features of the GMC Yukon 2023 include:

  • 10.2-inch motion touch screen
  • HD and satellite radio
  • Seven USB ports
  • Bose nine. speaker sound system
  • Wireless device charging
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Dual screen rear media system
  • leather seats
  • Heated electric front seats
  • Power adjustable heated steering wheel
  • panoramic sunroof

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Exterior

We expect the future GMC Yukon to continue to be available in the Yukon XL as a full-size SUV as well as a full-size SUV with an extended wheelbase.

The 2022 model year of the GMC Yukon has received major changes in terms of interior and exterior design, along with various advanced features. The 2023 model has the same sense of style as the 2022 model.

Denali trim adds LED headlights and taillights with a large chrome grille. The chrome grille at the front is actually satin chrome, which extends its life.

As GMC claims, there are about 10,000 individual chrome parts used in the car as a whole.

The grille has a very bold look and is one of the worst-looking front grilles on a car ever. The AT4 finish replaces the chrome grille with black and matte black.

It also features a red tow hook at the front and a 31-degree angled skid plate that facilitates off-road driving. It also has 20-inch tires that provide optimum grip on the road as well as the highway.

The wheelbase of the Ford Expedition 2023 is the largest among all while the ground clearance is also the largest compared to its competitors. This is very important for off-road because it can easily pass any obstacle. Some of the important exterior features of the GMC Yukon 2023 are:

  • Front chrome grille
  • Side skirting satin chrome finished
  • Double Exhaust System With Double Polished Double Stainless Steel Tips
  • Horizontal Red Recovery Hook
  • LED Fog Light
  • LED Signature Lighting
  • Help Step, Black With Shiny Black Insert
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • Retractable Assistance Step With Perimeter Lighting
  • Hands-Free Programmable Power Liftgate With GMC Logo Projection

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Engine

We expect the next GMC Yukon to feature the following engine options:

  • Twin-turbo V-6 engine, such as the Twin-Turbo 3.0L V-6 LGW or Twin-Turbo 3.6L V-6 LF3
  • One Small-Block V-8 engine, such as the 5.3L V-8 L83 or 6.2L V-8 L86 in the Yukon Denali

We expect the next Yukon to be offered exclusively with GM’s new 10-speed automatic; The plug-in hybrid model will have its own powertrain.

The 2023 GMC Yukon will likely be offered three engine options. Most trims will be powered by a 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The SLT trim level will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbo diesel six-cylinder engine with 277 hp. and 460 lb-ft of torque regardless of drivetrain. The motor crane also includes a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp. and 460 lb-ft of torque, which can only be found in the Denali trim. The base 5.3-liter engine can accelerate from 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and a quarter-mile in 16.5 seconds.

Now swap out the 5.3L engine for a 6.2L V8 in Denali trim, and it can go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6 seconds, which is impressive for an SUV.

However, due to the size of the car, which affects both handling and handling, top speed and performance are slightly lower than those of the competition.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali MPG

MPG Challenges The base 5.3L V8 engine for RWD delivers 16mpg in the city and about 20mpg on the road. The all-wheel-drive option is slightly less efficient, however, offering 15mpg in the city and 19mpg on the highway.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali

The larger engine in the Denali rig delivers 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the road for the RWD variant.

The MPG counter has been reduced by 1 MPG for the AWD variant. Better MPG performance than the previous model thanks to Dynamic Fuel Management. This system allows the engine to shut off the cylinders when not needed.

While all GMC Yukon 2023 competitors are on average the same in terms of mpg, the 2023 Ford Expedition has the edge over the others, with better coverage in the city and on the road.

2023 GMC Yukon XL

We expect the fifth-generation GMC Yukon to hit the market sometime in 2020-2021. In the meantime, we expect the current fourth-generation Yukon to receive minor changes, updates, and improvements.

Transmission

We expect the next GMC Yukon to have the following engine options:

  • SmallBlock V8 like 5.3L V8 L83 or 6.2L V8 L86 in Yukon Denali

We expect the next Yukon to only be offered with GM’s new 10-speed automatic transmission; the plug-in hybrid model will have its own powertrain.

Production

We expect the future GMC Yukon to be assembled by GM USA at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

2023 GMC Yukon Denali Price

We expect the starting price of the next Yukon to rise from $ 49,000 for the current GMC Yukon and $ 52,000 for the current GMC Yukon XL.

In early 2023, the GMC Yukon is expected to grow, but not by much. Regardless of whether you opt for the standard RWD layout over the optional AWD layout, the base car will cost another $ 100.

So expect the SLE RWD trim to be around $ 51,995 and the SLE AWD trim to be around $ 54,995. The larger variant, XL SLE RWD, is priced at around $ 54,695 and $ 57,695 for the XL SLE AWD variant. Meanwhile, the AT4’s off-road trim is expected to start at $ 66,095.

Now, as for the Denali trim, which nearly 60% of buyers prefer for the 2021 model, it is at least $ 69,695, which is $ 700 more than the previous version, and $ 600 more for the Denali XL than the previous version
