2019 GMC Acadia Denali Interior The 2019 GMC Acadia Denali is the top trim of the company’s midsize three-row crossover. It can accommodate 6 or 7 seats, depending on the equipment, and only comes with a 310bhp V6 and a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive optional.

The three-row GMC Acadia addresses industry groups such as the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander. If you need a third row, you are interested in this segment. If you’re not, then you’re not. And for an enthusiast, there’s really nothing to go by. The Mazda CX-9 is always my choice in this area, but the Acadia has a few things that are there for that.

First, it’s not looking bad. The original Acadia, which debuted in 2007, was blockier, which I liked. But this new one has the right proportions and shapes and doesn’t feel too big in smaller parking lots. When I look at both the Denali and non-Denali versions, I think I like the cheaper version better. At least on the looks.

Drosseltip-in is good. This SUV gets going fast, and the V6 gives the punch you need with a full third row. The six-speed pace, which sounds a little dated, was mostly smooth and quiet. It will turn the front tires in the rain, which happened to me a bunch of times until I switched into the 4WD car. This is good for quick trips, whatever the weather.

The seats look good and are very comfortable at the back, but I found it hard to find a good driving position. The interior is also well styled, but some of the materials seem a bit cheap for a $52,000 vehicle. I like the look of the instrument panel and the unfinished wood. As for the controls, everything is where it should be and there are plain old buttons for volume and tuning.

It’s compliant with bad roads and the tires are big enough that you wouldn’t have to worry about sunken cement or sharp potholes. And when I walked across a particularly long stretch of plastered blacktop, nothing clapped or made noise.

As I said, the Mazda is my choice here, maybe the Buick Enclave is second. Nothing in this class will set the world on fire but expel these two first. I haven’t ridden the new Subaru Ascent yet, but that also gets good reviews.
